Objectives
To offer a quality PhD program, based on the principles of epistemological, conceptual, and methodological coherence, oriented towards knowledge and research on psychological processes in diverse contexts and scenarios.
To promote the dissemination of research papers and developing theses through participation in conferences, scientific forums, and relevant publications in the field of study.
To enhance the mobility and internationalization of the program's trainee researchers, as well as their participation in research networks.
To produce highly-competent studies in the lines of research promoted by the research groups in the Psychology Department.
Who is it for?
The entry profile for the program is preferentially that of students with research experience in the fields of psychology. It is considered an asset if, in their previous university degree, the PhD candidate has carried out a master's thesis oriented towards their prospective research project, or if they demonstrate curricular merits endorsed by a research group. Accordingly, and in order to assess candidates' qualifications, in addition to accrediting good results in their academic records, they will have an interview with the program coordinator, and their applications can be endorsed by letters of admission signed by the main researcher of a research group at the Blanquerna School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.

Tutorial assignment procedure and thesis supervision
Once admitted to the PhD program, the ACDP (Academic Committee of the PhD Program) will assign the PhD student a thesis advisor, who must belong to the faculty of the PhD program. The appointment of the advisor may be modified by the ACDP at any time, provided that the PhD student states justified reasons in his or her request.
Within three months, the PhD student must propose a doctor as their thesis supervisor to the ACDP. This can be a Spanish or foreign doctor, with accredited research experience, regardless of the university, center, or institution where they work. In the case of a doctor not belonging to the URL, the proposal must be submitted accompanied by their corresponding accreditation certificate. The ACDP may also approve a co-supervision of the thesis. The student or supervisor may request a change in the supervision from the ACDP, if they deem it necessary.

The School's priority is the internationalization of research and the training of PhD students, and the PhD program is expected to promote research training placements and mobility. The research group in which the student is integrated encourages him/her to participate in networked research projects and also to carry out training placements at other centers, both national and international.
In addition, the School:
- Provides contacts with universities and external centers, through agreements established with the School.
- Helps students attend national and international conferences linked to their line of research.
- Promotes the co-direction of PhD theses between accredited research doctors at the URL and external universities and centers.

Student follow-up
The thesis supervisor will set the objectives of the student's research plan, help them in achieving them, and provide the best possible conditions for their future scientific career. The supervisor will meet with the student to provide training on the research content, methodology, and procedures. The advisor or supervisor will regularly review the PhD Activities Document (DAD) and draw up reports on the development of the research plan and its formation.

Psychology Laboratory
The Psychology Laboratory is a space for research into new therapeutic resources. Among other things, it has virtual reality devices applied to psychology that allow for better research.
Auditorium
For celebrations, academic events, conferences or activities, the faculty has an auditorium. In addition to the events of the same faculty, the space hosts other appointments that require ample space.
Music classroom
Music learning is an essential part of education. The faculty has 3 spaces dedicated exclusively to working in this field: two recording rooms and a dynamic classroom to work on movement and body expression.
Theoretical-practical classrooms and clinical simulation
Putting theory into practice is key to gaining knowledge. In the case of nursing, it is a key aspect before dealing with patients. The faculty has simulation classrooms to prepare students for clinical interventions.

Ethics in the field of research is fundamental. The Faculty Research Institutes are supported by the opinions of the Research Ethics Committees (CER-URL) to evaluate and rate projects that have ethical implications.

If you are part of a research group, you are a professor or doctoral student and you need help with a project, you can ask for advice. This help includes analysis, guidance, award support, and financial project management.
Language self-learning classroom

Admission process for PhDs at the School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences
Admissions process
There are two stages to the application process:
- Pre-enrollment: the student can pre-enrol in person at the school or online. When the pre-enrollment process has been completed, you will obtain a receipt with pre-enrollment details and a pre-enrollment code (CIB).
All applicants must have an interview with the program coordinator. The Academic Committee for the PhD Programs will assess the information and select the candidates by weighing up the following criteria:
- Assessment of the interview and the documentation submitted (weighted at 50%)
- Assessment of the resume (weighted at 40%)
- Assessment of the letter of intent (weighted at 10%)
- Enrollment: this means accepting the place once it has been assigned.
You must fill in the form at http://preinscripcio.blanquerna.edu and follow the process indicated. In this modality, payment for pre-enrollment rights (€100) is by credit or debit card using a secure, confidential BBVA process.
The following documentation must be sent before the deadline for the pre-enrollment process:
- Photocopy of ID card, passport or NIE residence card.
- Official academic transcript (original or certified copy) with grades for the courses taken and the average mark of the qualification, if available at the time of pre-enrollment or application for admission.
- Applicants with studies qualifying them for access completed outside Spain: certificate issued by the relevant body (university, embassy, consulate) confirming that the studies qualify the student to undertake master degree or graduate studies in the country of issue.
- Resume of the applicant.
- Letter of intent.
- Research experience in the field (if any).
- B2.1 or higher English level (if any).
- Letters of recommendation from researchers of a research group at Ramon Llull University (if any).

The student is responsible for having all the official documentation for their stay in Spain while studying at the School. Anyone requiring as such can ask for a pre-acceptance document attached to the pre-enrollment receipt to start the necessary procedures to obtain visas, scholarships or any other procedure. Under no circumstances does this document guarantee a place if all the access and admission requirements are not met. Once applicants have been accepted and enrollment is complete, they can request a letter of admission from the Academic Secretary, if required, by paying the corresponding fees.
Enrollment
Each applicant will be informed personally of the date and time of enrollment, along with the result of their admissions process. You must bring the following documentation with you when you enroll:
- Certified photocopy of the qualification that gives the student access to the course or documentary proof that the relevant document has been requested.
- 1 passport sized photograph.
The School does not guarantee the courses will be held if the required minimum number of enrollments is not reached.
Enrollment is the final step in the procedure to access the PhD course. Students will be informed individually of the enrollment date. When enrollment is completed, with payment of the corresponding fee, the student will have definitively secured a place. When students enrol, they will have two business days to pay the total cost of enrollment, by bank transfer or using a barcode at the bank. Once enrollment has been formalized, the amount paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
- When a student enrolls, a contract for the provision of teaching services is formalized between the student and the Blanquerna Foundation, which is legally binding from the time of payment. Payment must be made within two working days of the date of enrollment by the means of payment referred to above.
- Payment includes the corresponding insurance and, for students under the age of twenty-eight, compulsory academic insurance.
- If a student declines to take up a place, he/she will lose in full any amount he/she has paid.
- The student accepts the rules for the use of computer services established by the Blanquerna Foundation.
- The student's personal data will be included in an automated file under the responsibility of the Blanquerna Foundation, so that this contract can be maintained and fulfilled. Students should note that their data may also be used to inform them about the future activities of the Foundation, or for the institution to send them publications. In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999 on the protection of personal data, students have the right to access their data to update, rectify or cancel them, or oppose their use, by sending a letter, indicating which right they want to exercise, to the following address: Secretariat of the Blanquerna Foundation / Passeig de Sant Gervasi, 47 / 08022 Barcelona.
This section is a summary of the general conditions for enrollment. It is only for guidance and therefore has no contractual value.
