for gender-based violence: co-education, affective and sexual education, responsible use of digital spaces.
The ICD-Blanquerna Chair emerges from the partnership between the Catalan Institute for Women and the Blanquerna School of Psychology, Education and Sport Science at Ramon Llull University, reflecting their strong commitment to eradicating gender-based violence.
The Chair’s objective is to promote and disseminate research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in the field of gender-based violence. This work aims to support the development of a comprehensive, holistic response focused on raising awareness, preventing, detecting, and addressing such violence through equality policies.
The Chair’s primary goal is to ensure that research findings inform the design of public equality policies that are tailored to the actual needs of women, girls, and adolescents, with the ultimate aim of preventing, detecting, and intervening in cases of gender-based violence.
Another key focus of the Chair is education, training, and advisory services related to gender-based violence. These advisory and consulting services are available to any service provider, center, organization, or institution upon request.
Along these lines, the Chair will host four seminars annually for experts, allowing in-depth exploration of topics relevant to the scientific and academic community, professionals across various sectors, and public administration. These seminars will be free of charge and open to the public.
Additionally, the Chair will launch a journal titled Gender-Based Violence and Equality Policies. This will be an online, annual publication that explores key issues in violence against women and equality policies.
The Chair’s main lines of research, innovation, and knowledge transfer are as follows:
The Chair comprises expert research faculty specializing in the priority lines outlined above from the Blanquerna School of Psychology, Education and Sport Science at Ramon Llull University. It also includes representatives and technical staff from the Catalan Institute for Women.
The Chair is directed by Dr. Berta Aznar Martínez.
