University for the Elderly
The University for the Elderly is a project led by the Blanquerna - Universitat Ramon Llull School of Health Sciences, with an annual program of activities (workshops and talks) on various topics related to health, from a holistic perspective. Its goal is to foster the incorporation of new knowledge and practices that improve the capacity for self-care and contribute to promoting active aging among the population.
These activities are given by Blanquerna-URL faculty and health professionals in various areas of knowledge: Pharmacology, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
The program is intended for those elderly individuals who want to broaden their knowledge and skills in the management of their own health in a university environment.
The activities of the University for the Elderly have been validated and are part of the database of "Aquí, sí. Actius i Salut" of the Public Health Agency of Catalonia (ASPCAT), being integrated in its Prescription and Health Program (PSS).
The sessions are open to everyone and registration is free. Session are on Thursdays, from 10 to 12h, in C/ Padilla, 326, Barcelona.
