|Degree Director||Jordi Vilaró, PhD|
The PhD in Healthcare, Wellbeing and Bioethics is developed within the framework of the Campus of Excellence Aristos Campus Mundus and is taught jointly with the University of Deusto, the University Pontificia Comillas (University School of Nursing and Physiotherapy and Chair of Bioethics) and the Universitat Ramon Llull (Blanquerna Faculty of Health Sciences and institute Borja of Bioethics).
The programme involves an interdisciplinary approach (drawing from nursing, physiotherapy, human nutrition and dietetics, pharmacy, bioethics and other areas of healthcare) towards different pathologies, with a focus on new person-centred care models, from a perspective of all-inclusive healthcare. In this respect, it is one of the few programmes in the field of healthcare that stresses the need to combine the technical competence of healthcare professionals, with ethical competence, and bearing in mind social factors, to contribute to the wellbeing of the sick, guaranteeing respect for their integrity, dignity and autonomy.
