Functional re-education of orofacial and temporomandibular joint dysfunctions

The orofacial functions of sucking, swallowing, breathing, chewing and phonation develop with maturity. The cause of TMJ disorders may vary, and physiotherapy is considered to be essential in the management of these disorders.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders is a collective term for conditions that affect the TMJ or jaw joint and the muscles around the joint. The symptoms can be treated successfully with physiotherapy and a multidisciplinary approach.
