Kinanthropometry is the science that studies the size, shape, proportion, body composition, biological maturation, and major functions of the human being. It is a science recognized by UNESCO (1978), and its purpose is to help us learn about human movement, in the context of growth, physical exercise, sports performance and nutrition.
The International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) is the scientific and professional society that regulates its procedures, standards, and measurement protocols. ISAK has a knowledge accreditation itinerary through Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
The proposal presented at Blanquerna is the Level 1 certification, which aims to teach how to correctly measure and interpret a series of body composition variables by measuring basic dimensions, skin folds, perimeters and bodily diameters. All on the basis of the most advanced methodological standards and scientific evidence criteria upheld by ISAK.
