Ultrasound-guided PICC and MIDLINE insertion. Management and maintenance of vascular access.

Peripheral catheter insertion is a technique that is part of the usual protocols nurses work with. But what happens when we are dealing with a patient with difficult vascular access? The classic blind technique can lead to complications and increased patient discomfort, and also a low success rate. Ultrasound makes it possible to see veins that are not evident on physical inspection and allows them to be cannulated with a higher success rate, improving safety and quality of care.

Objectives

Develop a critical attitude in choosing the best vascular access device.

To update knowledge in the field of vascular access according to international recommendations and standards.

Enable professionals to be able to carry out quality care, ensuring patient safety.

Achieve the necessary ultrasound knowledge for the assessment and implantation of vascular access.

Who is it for?
