Pelvic floor dysfunctions are very common and can seriously affect a patient's quality of life, causing problems such as urinary and anal incontinence, pelvic pain or prolapse. The training provides the necessary tools to identify, diagnose and establish treatment goals in a precise and personalized manner, improving treatment results and offering efficient solutions.
Objectives
Study the abdomino-pelvic anatomy to learn about the interrelationship between the pelvic floor and the abdomen, and how this influence affects dysfunctions.
Study a patient's clinical evaluation to understand the general principles of a careful and systematic assessment in the context of pelvic floor pathology.
Learn how to get a complete medical history to identify the background, symptoms, and risk factors of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Develop skills for visual inspection of the pelvic floor, identifying obvious signs of pathologies or dysfunctions such as inflammation, prolapse or other alterations.
Acquire digital physical examination techniques to evaluate the muscle condition and function of the pelvic floor through internal exploration, detecting possible muscle dysfunctions.
Learn how to perform an electromyographic (EMG) assessment to measure pelvic floor muscle activity and identify alterations in its contraction and relaxation.
Study ultrasound assessment to observe abdominal and pelvic floor structures in real time and identify possible abdominal alterations, diastasis or pelvic floor dysfunctions.
