Pelvic floor dysfunctions are very common and can seriously affect a patient's quality of life, causing problems such as urinary and anal incontinence, pelvic pain or prolapse. The training provides the necessary tools to identify, diagnose and establish treatment goals in a precise and personalized manner, improving treatment results and offering efficient solutions.

Who is it aimed at?

Graduates in Physiotherapy and 4th year students of the bachelor's degree.

Course content

  1. Pelvic floor anatomy
  2. Abdominal-pelvic anatomy
  3. Approach strategies and overall patient assessment.
  4. Considerations when evaluating patients with pelvic floor disorders.
  5. Protocol for obtaining the medical history of patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
  6. Identification of obvious signs of dysfunction such as stress incontinence, prolapse, inflammation, etc.
  7. Observation of posture, abdominal muscles and pelvic floor mobility.
  8. Evaluation of muscle tone, strength and sensitivity.
  9. Electromyographic assessment (EMG):
  10. Abdominal ultrasound assessment techniques
  11. Use of ultrasound to evaluate the morphology, dysfunctions and movement of the pelvic floor.
  12. Performing physical and ultrasound examinations on simulated patients
