Therapeutic physical exercise is a fundamental tool in the management of various chronic diseases, including proven positive effects on patients' physical, mental and emotional health. Through an individualized physical activity plan adapted to the specific needs of each patient, exercise can help improve quality of life, reduce symptoms of chronic diseases and prevent the progression of various conditions.
The benefits of therapeutic physical exercise for chronically ill patients are broad and include improved cardiovascular functionality, reduced joint stiffness, increased muscle strength, and improved mobility. In addition, regular exercise can contribute to pain management, reduce anxiety and depression, and improve overall mental health. It is important to emphasize that therapeutic exercise must be designed specifically for each patient, taking into account their health conditions and individual limitations, with the aim of ensuring the treatment's safety and effectiveness.
Here, therapeutic exercise not only complements other forms of treatment, it can also be an essential element in the management of chronic diseases such as arthritis, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, among others.
