One of the greatest challenges in health and especially in the geriatric residential environment is the prevention of sedentary lifestyles and the incorporation of therapeutic physical exercise into physiotherapeutic interventions. Often the environment and conditions of the physiotherapy service in these facilities act as barriers to the implementation of this type of exercise. However, with knowledge of the principles of prescription and strategies that are appropriate for the environment, the implementation of these programs is possible.
