The dean of the School, Professor Josep Maria Carbonell; director of Journalism Degree, Professor Marçal Sintes, and Professor Jaume Suau have been to Helsinki, to attend the European project MedMedia and the World Press Freedom Day, which was held at Unesco.

The former Professor of the Official Master’s course in Advanced Journalism Xavier Vinader (1947-2015) has been awarded the prize given by Casa Amèrica de Catalunya of Freedom of Expression in Latin America and Spain.

Faculty professor and writer Enric Sòria has been appointed new Director of the Biblioteca d’Autors Valencians, edited by the Institució Alfons el Magnànim-Centre Valencià d'Estudis i d'Investigació.

The photojournalist Samuel Aranda, guest Professor at the Official Master in Advanced Journalism, received the 2016 Ortega y Gasset Prize 2016 of photography for the image «Arribant al paradís» published in the Diari ARA.

The School has recently signed an agreement with Oklahoma University (OU), which will allow the exchange of students and teachers in the degrees of Communication and International Relations, and expand joint activities in the field of research, masters, degrees and postgraduate courses.

Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations and consulting firm Ideograma have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly organize the Official Master in Political and Social Communication and collaborate in offering internships and promotion of the training program.

Fourth grade students of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication, Paula Torrell, Dana Natera, Lidia Sala and Manu Arévalo, have been chosen as finalists at the WeartWater Film Festival with the short film «Mirage». This piece is imagined «between the wild beauty of nature and the devastating effects of man on it.»

Ex-students Andrea Marroquin (Advertising and Public Relations, 7th promotion, and Pablo Bujosa (Audiovisual Communication, 5th promotion) have been awarded prizes in the 59th edition of the New York Emmy Awards, presented in New York City.

D'Aclip, a project created by three students of the Master in Production and Cultural Communication in Blanquerna, organizes three events. They will be held within the framework of the International Auteur Film Festival of Barcelona in collaboration with the Sala Apolo, with the mission of raising awareness and bringing young people to the Catalan auteur cinema world.
