The 20th edition of the QS World University Rankings features 1,500 institutions in 104 locations, being the sole ranking of its kind to highlight employability and sustainability. Furthermore, the results are based on the analysis of 17.5 meters of academic papers and the expert opinion of more than 240,000 professors and academic employers.

URL has entered the ranking in 6 disciplines, in 3 of them for the first time: Marketing, Law and Accounting & Finance.

Marketing studies has been ranked 1st in Spain (rank 20-50 in the world).

Psychology is also outstanding, maintaining its position as 10th in Spain (rank 301-330 in the world).

Similarly, URL's Business & Management Studies, taught at Esade-URL, IQS-URL and La Salle-URL, have consolidated their position as 1st in Spain and 21st in the world in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2024.

The URL has also achieved outstanding positions in the studies of Hospitality & Leisure Management, which are taught at IQS-URL and are ranked in the top 5 in Spain (rank 101-150 in the world).

Finance (Accounting & Finance), which is ranked for the first time and is positioned 4th in Spain and in the top 100 in the world.

Lastly, Law, which is taught at Esade-URL, is included in the ranking for the first time.

Fields of knowledge

In the field of Social Sciences & Management, the URL ranks 6th in Spain, and in the top 100 worldwide out of a total of 530 institutions ranked. This field covers 16 different studies, including Management, Law, Politics and Economics.

The QS World University Ranking by Subject is one of the most prestigious international university rankings and this year's report has measured the educational quality of more than 1,500 educational institutions in 96 countries around the world in 55 disciplines. The ranking uses five criteria to draw up the classifications: the results of over 150,000 responses to a survey of universities' reputations among academics worldwide; and 99,000 responses from another reputation survey among employers; the number of citations in scientific publications over a period of five years, and lastly, the H Index, which is based on the most cited publications and the number of citations they have received in other scientific articles. Depending on the subject, the ranking gives a different weight to each of these indicators.
