The qualification of University Expert in Nursing applied to Healthcare and Wellness of the Woman and Child is a programme designed for nurses who wish to enhance their knowledge, skills and approaches regarding care for the woman and child. The objective is to improve the quality of care for both groups with interventions from sector professionals.
Currently, studies in the Degree in Nursing involve basic training in care for woman and child. This new University Expert qualification provides a wide range of knowledge of generic knowledge of healthcare like nutrition and mental health, and also addresses the most relevant aspects of the practice of care for woman and child. Regarding the woman, there is an insight into the areas of obstetrics, gynaecology, oncology and endocrinology. For the child, assessment, treating the newborn and the premature, and specific care for the newborn with health problems are addressed.
This training programme will not only allow nurses to gain competence in advanced practices but will also facilitate work insertion in care services for the woman and child.
