Blanquerna-URL measures in response to the heavy rain alert for tomorrow, September 9

In view of Resolution ISP/3175/2026 issued by the Government of Catalonia regarding the activation of the Special Emergency Plan for Floods (INUNCAT), and given that, for the time being, Barcelonès is not among the counties affected by activity restrictions, Blanquerna-URL’s four centres will maintain their scheduled activities tomorrow.

However, in view of the mobility restrictions affecting Alt Penedès, Baix Llobregat, Baix Penedès, Garraf and Vallès Occidental, the following measures will apply:

• Students: those who live in or need to travel through the affected counties should follow the mobility guidelines and avoid any potentially unsafe journeys. Links will be provided to enable students to follow the scheduled welcome and start-of-year activities online throughout the morning. As of the date and time of this announcement, afternoon activities will go ahead as planned.
• Teaching and research staff (PDI) and administrative and services staff (PTGAS): those who live in or need to travel through the affected areas may work remotely. Links will also be provided for teaching staff to join any plenary sessions and meetings scheduled for tomorrow morning online.

Developments regarding the alert

These measures will be adapted if the authorities extend the restrictions or change the alert level. We ask the entire university community to remain attentive to communications issued through Blanquerna-URL’s usual channels and to follow the instructions of the Civil Protection authorities.
