The sports dietician-nutritionist plays a key role when assessing both elite athletes and people who regularly do physical exercise, with the objective of maintaining a healthy condition and optimising performance. At present, these experts have to be able to incorporate some aspects of gastronomy when planning diets, with the aim of complementing the diet with food and adapting it and, in organoleptic terms, better. The way and the variety of ways that such food is manipulated and cooked is of vital importance to guarantee a good complement for the athlete.
