The CIC Foundation and the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences sign an agreement to promote two new higher degrees

June 23, 2023

CIC Cicles Formatius will extend the range of training it offers with a higher degree in Early Childhood Education and a higher degree in Administration and Finance, specializing in Sports Management, which will be available for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years, respectively. This alliance will allow students to have two years of linked studies, taking the vocational training cycle first, followed by a bachelor degree, where part of the credit requirement will already be recognized.

Barcelona, June 23, 2023. The CIC Foundation and Blanquerna-URL have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of adding two new cycles to the range of courses offered by the CIC Cicles Formatius center: the advanced degree in Early Childhood Education and the advanced degree in Administration and Finance specializing in Sports Management. The first will be available for the 2023-2024 academic year, while the second will be offered from 2024-2025.

The signing of the agreement was attended by Carles Duarte i Montserrat, General Director of the CIC Foundation, Joaquim Triadú i Vila-Abadal, President of the CIC Foundation, and Jordi Riera i Romaní, Dean of the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences.

Under the new agreement, Blanquerna provides its expertise and pedagogical resources to support the design of the new advanced education courses that will be taught by the CIC Foundation. This is a very significant academic alliance, as it will allow students to have two years of linked studies, taking the vocational training cycle first, followed by a bachelor degree at the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences, where part of the credit requirement will already be recognized.

"The joint preparation of the academic curriculum, the availability of teaching staff familiar with the university and the validation of credits for university degrees offered by the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences (Sports Management and Early Childhood Education) offered to students under this agreement, are three aspects that bring added value to the training provided by CIC Cicles Formatius", said Carles Duarte i Montserrat, General Director of the CIC Foundation.

According to Dr Jordi Riera, Dean of the Blanquerna-URL School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences, the agreement has come about as a result of our "interest in building bridges between the vocational area of training cycles and university education. With a view to training people who will become competent in their personal and professional future, the alliance will offer a connection throughout the learning itinerary with a special focus on continuity and the transition between the two stages of higher education."
