The course is structured in 4 main modules of intensive theory seminars, each block consisting of 4 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). In addition, there will be a 0 module in which the theoretical framework in which the OD is included will be reviewed (1 ECTS); a supervision module in small groups will take place from the middle of the course until the end. Supervisions will be held online. In total, supervision sessions represent 3 ECTS credits.

  • Constructivism, social constructionism, and dialogical existentialism
  • Clinical modalities in the socio-constructivist framework

MODULE 1 (4 ECTS) 2-5 November 2021

  • Birth and Development of Open Dialogue
  • Definition and Principles of Open Dialogue
  • Introduction to the Open Dialogue training process and introduction of participants. Dialogicality, dialogical practice, reflective processes.
  • Group work/exercises/discussions

MODULE 2 (4 ECTS) 14-17 December 2021

  • Dialogic practice in mental health crises
  • Dialogic practice in different social networks
  • Dialogic practice in combination with different therapeutic methods in the same treatment
  • Group work/exercises/discussions

MODULE 3 (4 ECTS) 29th March - 1st April 2022

  • Family of Origin Day
  • Dialogic practice in the support of parenting and the well-being of children/adolescents in the family
  • Dialogic practice in family-centered treatment of people affected by psychosis and severe depression

MODULE 4 (4 ECTS) 14-17 June 2022

  • Application of Open Dialogue in different contexts
  • Exploration of topics proposed by the students
  • Final seminar: What makes dialogicality possible?
  • Evaluation and completion of the course
