Since the 700th anniversary of the death of Ramon Llull is commemorated this year, Lola Badia, director of the Documentation Centre Ramon Llull and National Culture Award 2016, a medievalist expert, gave an inaugural lecture entitled «Un conte de Ramon Llull sobre l’ensenyament de les ciències».

Professors Francesc Vilallonga and Miguel Franquet, PhD Extraordinary Awards
In the opening ceremony of the academic year, professors Miguel Franquet and Francesc Vilallonga received last year’s Extraordinary Doctoral Awards, consisting of a certificate that will be part of the academic record of the winners.
The court of the Doctoral Program in Advanced Studies in Communication of our faculty, formed by Dr. Josep Maria Carbonell, Dr. Pere Masip and Dr. Alfons Medina, awarded the prize to Dr. Miguel Franquet for the thesis entitled Ethics and Photojournalism: the visual representation of reality, tutored by Dr. Ferran Sáez Mateu.
In addition, the court of the then PhD Program in Communication and Humanities, formed by Dr. Josep Carbonell, Dr. Pere Masip and Dr. Sue Aran, awarded the Prize to Dr. Francesc Vilallonga for the thesis entitled El sector de l’exhibició cinematogràfica a Catalunya en l’era de la digitalització (2000-2013). Evolució i anàlisi. Formes d’exhibició alternatives als cinemes independents. El cas del Cinema Truffaut, tutored by Dr. Alfons Medina.
