February 17, 2023

Dr. Elena Carrillo-Álvarez and Dr. Jordi Vilaró, together with six students, took part in an activity at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão

The Strategic and Innovative European Network for Education in Healthy Ageing (SIENHA) project, funded by the European Union's ERASMUS+ programme, is led by the Global Research on Wellbeing research group of the Blanquerna-URL School of Health Sciences.

The latest activities carried out by the project were the Teaching Activities, Training I and II, which took place at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão (Portugal), from February 6 to 10. Dr. Elena Carrillo-Alvarez, coordinator of the project, Dr. Jordi Vilaró, and six students from the School took part in these training sessions: Marta Reyes, Marta Gómez, Àngel Guiseris, Emma Arlà, Júlia Creus and Anna Orive.

The project is a partnership between seven universities whose common goal is to foster education for health professionals and encourage social care to encourage healthy ageing.

More than forty professors and students from the partner institutions were involved: Blanquerna School of Health Sciences at Ramon Llull University, Heimerer College, HU University of Applied Sciences, Escola Superior de Saúde do Alcoitão (ESSAlcoitão), JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at Nicolaus Copernicus University, and HSG Bochum-University of Applied Sciences.

These courses provide participants with knowledge to improve their expertise in the field of ageing through interactive sessions and discussions. The training activities also seek to contribute to validating the intellectual outputs of the SIENHA project.
