Elena Yeste, 'Ramon Trias Fargas' Award

The Professor of Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations, Elena Yeste, won the XVIII Ramon Trias Fargas Award of Political Essay, for her paper "A conflict of languages. From the ‘Nueva Planta’ decree to the Wert law".

She received the award during the 7th Night of Contemporary Thought, from the hand of the president of Catalonia, Artur Mas, and Montserrat Trueta, the widow of Ramon Trias Fargas.

So far, many of our faculty have received prestigious awards. The professors of our Degree in Journalism, Eduard Voltas and Marc Marginedas, received the National Communication Awards given by the Generalitat of Catalonia.

The assistant director of the Catalan newspaper El Periódico and professor, Albert Sáez, won the Joan Fuster Essay Award for his work “Journalism after Twitter. Notes to rethink a profession”.

Professor Carlos Ruiz won the 31st Josep Vallverdú Essay Award given by the City of Lleida for his paper "The digitization of the other".

Professor Francesc Viadel won the 2014 Joan Coromines award for philological, historical and cultural research given by Choral Society Lo Micalet; and the XVIII Josep Maria Ribelles Poetry Award in Valencia, for his book “Ciutat, dies insòlits” (City, unusual days).

Finally, the professor of the Humanities department, Toni Aira, won the "Carles Cardó" Award from the organization Person and Democracy, in the framework of the sixth Joaquim Xicoy Memorial.
