Attention! Attempted identity spoofing with a fake payment notice
We would like to inform you that in the past few hours we have detected a phishing attempt targeting members of the university.
The fraudulent email pretended to be an official communication about a pending tuition payment, including amounts (1250 €), deadlines, and a IBAN, along with a sender using a fraudulent domain that does not belong to Blanquerna.
To strengthen digital security within our community, we remind you of some useful guidelines for identifying potential fraud attempts.
How to recognize possible phishing
- Emails that create a sense of urgency (immediate payments, account blocking, legal threats).
- Requests for personal data, login credentials, or unexpected payments.
- Suspicious domains or email addresses that do not match Blanquerna’s official domain: @blanquerna.url.edu.
- Spelling errors, inconsistent information, or misuse of logos and corporate images.
What to do if you receive a suspicious email
- Do not click on links or download attachments.
- Do not reply to the email.
- Do not provide any personal information or make payments.
We are monitoring the incident and applying the necessary protection measures.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Kind regards,
Cibersecurity
