Doctorate courses train high level researchers by providing an insight into research methodologies, techniques and skills. The Doctorate concludes with the preparation and presentation of a doctoral thesis which consists of an original research project directed by a doctor who is recognised as a qualified researcher. Those successfully completing these studies will be awarded the title of Doctor by the Universitat Ramon Llull, which is the highest honour given in higher education. Entitlement to do a Doctorate requires prior acquisition of a Master’s degree or achieving at least 60 credits in official postgraduate programmes. In any case, the student will have to have completed a minimum of 300 credits as a graduate and postgraduate to gain entry to a Doctorate memory.
