Blanquerna talent at the Gaudí Awards

A handful of students and teachers of our faculty have actively participated in the tenth gala of the Gaudí awards, awarded by the Catalan Film Academy to recognize the best pieces of work produced during the year 2017.

The director of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication, Judith Colell; and the professor, Isona Passola; secretary and president, respectively, of the Academy of Catalan Arts and Film Sciences took to the red carpet, in the company of students of the third year of the degree in Audiovisual Communication, Helena Prado, Ariadna Ruiz, Eva Esperanza, Melissa Restrepo and Júlia Tusset, who gave their support in the production and delivery of the gala awards.

Former Blanquerna student, Marcel Barrena, director of the feature film 100 metres, also participated in the event by presenting and delivering three awards.

The star of the night was undoubtedly Carla Simón's 'opera prima', Estiu 1993, which won the Best Film, Best Direction and Best Screenplay, among others. The Incerta glòria and Tierra Firme films also received awards, in a large number of the categories. The films Incerta glòria and Tierra Firme also received awards in a large number of the categories. Tierra Firme, winner of the Best Non-Catalan Film award, was produce by two professors from the Audiovisual Communication Degree, Tono Folguera and Sergi Moreno.

Teachers invited to the Barça stadium

As every year after the delivery of the Gaudí awards, the president of Barça invited the Board of Directors of the Academy and the winners of the prizes to attend a match from the presidential box. We also delivered personalized t-shirts of each winning film.
