The event, coordinated by professor Antoni Traveria, director of Casa Amèrica Catalunya, was presented by the School dean, Dr. Josep Maria Carbonell, who gave credit to the importance of Che, a controversial myth for many generations.
Through a colloquium with students, Juan Martin Guevara presented the key points of his brother's thinking: "The process of knowing deep America, being at the heart of the people's problems, is what pushed him to make the decision to join an armed group”, Guevara said.
In collaboration with the students' questions, he reflected on issues such as the drift of socialism in countries such as Russia or China, the future of Cuba after the death of Fidel Castro and the possible construction of a confederation of countries in Latin America. "The institutional unions between governments -he concluded- are fragile, those that serve are among the people".
