Gemma Parellada (Journalism, 7th class), professor of the Master’s course in Journalism and International Relations, received the XIII Journalism Award Miguel Gil Moreno, for her "outstanding career, courage and deep commitment to the truth."
The prize was given by Penguin Random House Publishing Group with the Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation, in memory of this correspondent, who was killed in an ambush while working in Sierra Leone in 2000.

A couple of years ago, Parellada received the Memorial Joan Gomis Award for the piece La guerra infinita (The endless war), a shocking story about the situation in Congo. Back then, the student Irene Torecilla interviewed her. We invite you to listen to it.
