Premiere of the Documentary «Menazka (The casserole)» of Professor David Serrano

February 2, 2016

Punta del Este Jewish Film Festival will host the premiere of the documentary «Menazka (The casserole)» a co-production of Blanquerna FCRI, ORT University of Uruguay and Inquiets Media.

The project was led by Professor David Serrano (director and co-scriptwriter) and Professor Anibal Salazar (co-scriptwriter). The production, editing and musical composition were by Jaume Padrós, the cinematography by Genis Sanchez and infographic design and 3D treatment by Toni Rubio. The intern, Ariadna Lagarsi was involved in the design.

The documentary emphasizes the importance of remembering the Shoah through testimonies like the one offered by Mr. Borojevich, a survivor of three ghettos and six camps, who travels to Bergen Belsen accompanied by a high school student of the Escola Pia de Sabadell, Camino Llonch. It is a physical and emotional journey into the past which compels future generations to remember.

We also share an interview with Professor Serrano done after the presentation of his book «El llanto de la maleta. La historia de dos hermanas separadas tras el nazismo» (The cry from the suitcase. The history of two sisters separated after Nazism).

«Menazka (The casserole)» won for Best Documentary
