Based on Royal Decree 1393/2007, Bachelor’s degree programmes must provide students with sufficient basic academic training for them to work professionally or keep studying and pursue an official Master’s degree. Master’s degrees are advanced specialised, multidisciplinary training whose goal is either academic and professional specialisation or the start of research activities. Official Master’s degrees are needed to gain admission into doctoral studies, whose purpose is to provide advanced research training in which the candidate earns a doctoral degree by writing a doctoral thesis.
Official Master’s degrees have been adapted to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and are organised into ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) credits, a system of compatible credits, comparable criteria and methodologies and similar length for European degrees whose goal is to facilitate and promote mobility and students’ inclusion in the European job market. Master’s degrees are at least 60 credits and at most 120 credits long, equivalent to one or two academic years.
ECTS credits are characterised by revolving around students as the drivers of their learning process. Each credit is equivalent to 25 hours of instruction, and they are used to count class time (theoretical and practical), individual study, participation in seminars, projects, internships and testing. During one academic year, a student can earn up to 60 credits if studying full-time and 30 if studying part-time.
The official Master’s degrees at the Blanquerna-URL Faculty of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences are targeted at holders of Bachelor’s degrees as well as professionals who need to engage in lifelong learning. The Master’s degrees are professional in orientation, and they examine topics and subjects that require specialised treatment. Characteristics of the official Master’s degrees within the Faculty are:

To gain admission into official Master’s degree programmes, applicants must hold an official degree from a Spanish university or another degree issued by a higher education institution within the European Higher Education Area which in the issuing country authorises the holder of this degree to pursue a Master’s degree.
Likewise, holders of Bachelor’s degrees from outside the European Higher Education Area may gain admission to Master’s degree programmes without the need to have their degrees officially approved as long as the university can previously accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding Spanish official university degrees which in the issuing country authorise the holder of this degree to pursue a post-graduate degree. Admission by this means in no way entails approval of the previous degree or its recognition for purposes other than pursuing a Master’s degree.
The process of applying for admission has two stages:
Pre-enrolment: Students may pre-enrol either in person in the faculty or online. When they enrol, the applicant will receive the corresponding receipt indicating the day, time and venue for the entrance examination, pre-enrolment code and pre-enrolment information.
Enrolment: This implies acceptance of the place after being assigned it.
The form found at the following link must be filled out following the procedure indicated. By pre-enrolling online, the pre-enrolment fee (€95) must be paid by credit or debit card using a secure, confidential process via Catalunya Caixa.
Before the deadline of the pre-enrolment process has elapsed, the following documentation must be submitted:
Prior to the pre-enrolment deadline, candidates who apply for the Official Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology must accredit that they have taken 90 ECTS credits specifically in the field of healthcare through the corresponding academic certificate issued by the home university and have a degree in Psychology or studies approved by the Spanish State.
Please provide the Student Information and Guidance Service with the following documentation:

It is the student’s responsibility to have all the official documentation needed to live in Spain while they study at the university.
Applicants may request pre-admission documents along with their pre-enrolment receipt in order to begin the paperwork needed to secure visas, scholarships or any other procedure. This document in no way guarantees the student’s place in the programme if all the other entrance and admission requirements are not met.
Once the applicant has been admitted and has officially enrolled, if desired they may request a letter of admission from the Academic Secretary's Office after paying the corresponding fee.
Please feel free to contact the Student Information and Guidance Service for further information.
To gain admission into the MIPE, the applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in:
After analysing and assessing the candidates’ dossiers, the coordinating committee of the MIPE in charge of the student admission process will identify those candidates who do not fully accredit specific training in Psychology and Education as required to be admitted into the programme, and may require them to take up to 30 further credits in addition to those required to earn the degree in order to ensure that they maximally benefit from the programme.

Enrolment is the final procedure to gain access to the master’s course. Every candidate shall be individually informed of their enrolment date. Enrolment formalisation, including the payment of corresponding fees, represents that the applicant has finally been awarded the place. Tuition fees payment is carried out in instalments, free of interest. After enrolling, applicants shall have a period of two working days to pay for 50% of the total cost of enrolled credits via bank payment (either transfer or barcode); the remaining 50% will be split into 9 monthly payments, due from October to June, via direct debit (when enrolling, applicants shall provide us with a bank account number). Fees will be updated every academic year. Once enrolment is formalised, fees paid cannot be refunded for any reason.
Blanquerna-URL alumni will have a 15% discount on their tuition fees for non-subsidised, first-access official master’s courses, in the event that alumni enrolls full time and for all the credits that the degree offers each course.
