Women teachers and educators

01/28/2024

As part of International Working Women's Day, we would like to highlight the valuable role of women teachers and educators as a driving force for reflection and educational change yesterday, today and tomorrow. The teaching profession is still a highly feminized profession, an issue that is more accentuated in the early learning stages. This clearly is a trend that should be modified, especially to overcome the parternalist (or rather maternalist) confusion regarding the role of teachers, or even to change the perception of teachers as a less prestigious profession. Nevertheless, the fact that this has been the case for many years has left us very good professionals, female teachers that we should not only not forget but also highlight, since at times the excessively male-centered vision of the world has tended to dilute it.

Text prepared by the Area of Education and Society
