Students in the University Master’s in Physical Activity, Health and Sports Training must do a practicum related to the professional competences they are supposed to develop. The practicum will be supervised in the group Seminar, which is made up of 10-12 students led by an expert professor-supervisor with direct ties to physical activity in health centres or sports training in clubs and training centres with experience in the sector. The practicum is usually done in recognised centres such as clubs, high-performance centres, training centres, competitive sports clubs, hospitals, primary care facilities or monitoring and rehabilitation clinics, depending on the student’s interests and the recommendations of the team that coordinates the practicum module.
At the centre, the practicum will be supervised by a qualified professional who holds at least a Bachelor’s degree or is a university graduate and is recognised as a practicum supervisor at the centre. The practicum supervisor at the centre and the professor-supervisor in the Master’s practicum in the faculty will monitor and evaluate the module. The coordinated efforts of these two supervisors is necessary for students’ training in order to ensure that the practicum is carried out properly and with the utmost quality. This external practicum will abide by the provisions of Royal Decree 1707/2011 dated the 18th of November 2011 which regulates external academic practicums by university students.
