  • Meritxell Pacheco Pérez, PhD CV

Psychologist and PhD in Psychology. Teacher at Facultat de Psicologia, Ciències de l’Educació i de l’Esport FPCEE Blanquerna, Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) since 2003, where she got her PhD with honours in 2006, as well as the extraordinary PhD prize. Co-director of different postgraduate programmes in adoption and fostering since 2008. Since the start of her professional career, she has devoted herself to teaching professionals that work in the field of children and family from a constructivist-narrative approach, and for more than ten years specifically to integrating and interdisciplinary intervention with adoptive families. Teacher at the Master’s course in General Healthcare Psychology (URL) as well as in postgraduate programmes from other universities, mainly in the area of childhood, family, and constructivist therapies. Member of the Research Group Psychology, Person, and Context (URL), and director of the research line Adoptions and Family Fostering. Reviewer for different scientific publications. She mainly researches and publishes in the field of adoptive filiation, and also in the construction of identity and the development of the psychotherapeutic process. She has coordinated and participated in many lectures and communications, and also participated in the co-organization of different conferences on Psychotherapy, on Constructivism, and on Child Clinical Psychology, both at a national and international level. Researcher accredited by AQU (2007). She has also co-authored informative books on adoptive parenting: ¿Y si adoptamos? (published in 2011, by Editorial Viceversa), and Hemos adoptado (published in 2012, by Larousse Editorial). Since 1997, Dr. Pacheco has combined her academic and research activity with clinical practice. She was a psychologist of the team at the Collaborating Institute for Family Integration (ICIF Blanquerna), assessing the suitability of families applying for international adoption (2003-07), and clinical coordinator of Blanquerna Postadoption Service (2007-2014). She is a psychotherapist accredited by FEAP, EAP, and ASEPCO, and a General Healthcare Psychologist. Since 2014, she has been co-director and psychotherapist at Myrios, Institute of Psychological and Psychopedagogical Attention, working both in individual and family psychotherapy.
