In accordance with the definition provided by the European Higher Education Area, the goal of Master's programmes must be to offer students advanced specialised or multidisciplinary training aimed at professional specialisation. To this end, the goal of the University Master's in Educational Innovation and Educational Leadership is to prepare students from different undergraduate degrees in education (especially preschool, primary and secondary school) to work as professionals who can develop innovations at school and are competent in leadership and team management skills.
The aim is to train professionals who are capable of bringing the latest innovations to schools, innovations whose transformative nature is real and measurable in both the classroom and organisationally in the school as a whole, without ignoring emerging forms of local collaboration. The emphasis is for students to effectively, objectively develop the specific, critical competences of transformational leadership and educational innovation at school. The development of these competences at different levels – classroom, educational setting or socio-educational system/network – should be aimed at promoting stimulating, inclusive learning environments targeted at school success.
Bearing in mind these considerations, the specific objectives of the University Master's in Educational Innovation and Educational Leadership are the following:
To strategically plan improvement and pedagogical innovation processes in different organisational and institutional contexts.
