The focal points of the Research and Innovation Group on Sport and Society (GRIES) include: the social history of sport; social intervention through sport; the social, economic and environmental impact of free time and sports tourism; the management of organisations and facilities; and the psychosocial analysis of sport performance.

Brief CV

PhD in Contemporary History from the UB. He has served as a professor Thinking and Culture in the Department of Contemporary History of the UB (1997-98). He is current a professor of Social History of Physical Activity and Sport at the Blanquerna-URL FPCEE and coordinator of the centre’s doctoral programmes. He is an expert in the social history of sport, has coordinated and published a number of monographs in the history of sport, the history of the sports press, the Olympics and the political history of Catalonia and Spain. He has participated in European projects on the history of sport. He has published ten books and dozens of articles in the history of sport. He is a fellow of the European Committee for Sports History.
