Couples and Family Research Group (GRPF)


Research group recognised by the Generalitat de Catalunya

The Couples and Family Research Group (GRPF) bases its research on the complexity of the family group, with special attention to the emotional and communicative aspects, and it develops both preventative and therapeutic family intervention models.
The researchers are organised into sub-groups which work on different avenues of research, such as: quality of couple relationships, impact of divorce, family violence, migration, adoptions, addictions, disability, the impact of chronic disease on the family, young adults (YAGISSP), evaluation of prevention programmes.

PhD in Medicine and Surgery. Specialist in Psychiatry. Full Professor in the field of Personality, Evaluation and Treatment in the Blanquerna-Ramon Llull University Faculty of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences. Director of the Psychological Medical Centre and Coordinator of the Couples and Family Unit at the Foundation Vidal i Barraquer (FVB). Teaching supervisor at the Catalan Society of Family Therapy. Professor in the Master’s in Clinical Psychopathology at the FVB. He is a member of organisations like the Spanish Psychiatry Society, the Spanish Society for Research and Development in Family Therapy and the Spanish Federation of Family Therapy Associations. He is the author of different articles and books, including Conflictos de pareja: diagnóstico y tratamiento, La familia: nuevas aportaciones, Violencia en la familia and Parejas en conflicto.
