Blanquerna and HRS4R, a compromise for research and European recovery plan

The HRS4R award is based on an appraisal of the applicant’s compliance with the Charter and Code, and subsequent implementation of the HR Strategy for Researchers.

A few weeks ago the European Commission and the EU Council hosted the launch of Horizon Europe: the new ambitious European Framework Programme for the period of 2021 to 2027, aimed at supporting research and innovation accross Europe towards a digital, more resilient, greener, and healthier future.

To make the most of this transnational effort for recovery, our compliance as research organizations with the European research principles is more important than ever, and that is why we are strongly committed to the European Commission’s HRS4R initiative.

The HRS4R award is based on an appraisal of the applicant’s compliance with the Charter and Code, and subsequent implementation of the HR Strategy for Researchers. This initiative from the European Commission (EC) is aimed at aligning HR policies across European research institutions with the goal of making the
movement of researchers between institutions easier and conditions fairer. The European Commission then carries out an independent evaluation every four years after the award of the HRS4R logo, which can be used to identify the organization globally as committedly working towards this goal.
