Three reasons to choose this master degree

Logotherapy

It is a model of psychotherapeutic intervention with a solid scientific basis, created by V. Frankl, useful for treating and preventing mental health problems and also for reinforcing the relationship through which the person is helped, in various contexts.

Viktor Frankl

Neuropsychiatrist and therapist. Creator of logotherapy and existential analysis. Author of more than thirty books. "Man's Search for Meaning" is considered one of the ten most influential books of the twenty-first century.

Meaning(s) of life

There is a specifically human dimension, the noetic dimension (from the Greek "nous"), that places the MEANING OF LIFE at the center of our existence. It is a dimension that everyone has, and helps us to respond responsibly to the questions that life poses. It must be educated, helped to grow and reinforced, when it has been damaged or when circumstances threaten it.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. (V.Frankl)

As professionals, we need to learn to support others (patients, disciples, students, customers), so that they can make better use of their freedom of decision and choice. The most important thing is to help them discover that they are capable of doing this. Many psychologists, educators, and other supportive professionals work to help people to know themselves, and know how to control their response when they have to deal with situations that are not to their liking or seem to be beyond them. Above all, logotherapy seeks to make individuals more free, aware, and able to build their own lives responsibly. To the extent that they succeed, they will be able to lead a full life.

Who is it for?

Graduates in humanities and social sciences who work or want to work in connection with aid: psychologists, educators, doctors, nurses, social workers, sociologists and other professionals in the field of the humanities. In the admission process, the professional experience or prior volunteering will be assessed (it is not a requirement).

Curriculum

Module 1. On the nature of the human being. Logotherapeutic Anthropology (10 ECTS)

Module 2. On what the human being can become. Logotherapy in crisis prevention (10 ECTS)

Module 3. On the neurotic human being. Logotherapy as a preventive strategy when faced with a crisis (10 ECTS)

Module 5. Supervision and intervision (15 ECTS)

Module 6. Thesis (5 ECTS)

Master degree thesis

Presentation of a supervised logotherapy project, or presentation of 10 clinical cases. In the final project students must apply theoretical knowledge and methodology to practical clinical cases or to a specific project.

The projects will be carried out individually or, exceptionally, in groups. Projects must be written in Catalan, Spanish, or English.

Work on the thesis begins in Module 5. The clinical cases studied or the project can be presented in the common parts of the supervisory sessions. The thesis is supervised by an advisor with a PhD specializing in logotherapy.

Work on the thesis is monitored in supervisory sessions. Individual tutoring is also offered.
The thesis will be presented at the end of the second year.

The assessment consists of two grades. The advisor gives a grade based on the final thesis produced (70% of the final score). 30% of the score is awarded by a professor who is a specialist in logotherapy, based on an oral presentation to the class or a group from the class.

Career prospects

The program offers extensive and intensive training in theoretical and practical aspects of the field, so that the student can become a logotherapist with the possibility of accreditation at the Viktor Frankl Institute in Vienna.

  • Theoretical, looking in depth at the concepts of existential analysis and logotherapy, with the participation of renowned specialists.
  • Practical, with intense case monitoring and the creation of groups that make it easier to work through the shared experience of the participants.

The skills acquired will strengthen the ability of students to carry out their professional role, raising their professional profile and advancing their careers.

Stages of the admission process

The admission process for the school's own degree studies is developed in 3 stages:

  1. Pre-enrollment
  2. Admission
  3. Enrollment

Pre-enrollment

Students can pre-enroll online (by accessing Pre-enrollment | Blanquerna or the pre-enrollment option for each course) and also in person at the school.

For online pre-enrollment, you will need to:

  1. Sign up on the unique registration system and create a username (if not previously obtained) and follow the instructions to completion.
  2. Make a payment of €50 (non-refundable fee for pre-enrollment rights and processing) can be made by credit or debit card, through a secure and confidential BBVA process.
  3. Upload the required documentation through the document repository.
  • ID card (both sides)
  • Resume
  • In some courses, other documents must be attached if the page on each degree indicates as such.

Admission

Once pre-enrollment has been completed, the candidate will be offered a date for an interview with the degree coordinator, who will assess their suitability and solve any doubts they may have about the course for which they are enrolling. Once the assessment is complete, the student will be informed of the result of the interview and how to enroll, if admitted.

Prior to enrollment, the person concerned must upload the qualifications or the receipt of the university studies completed to the document repository. If these documents are not available, the course may be taken but the qualifications will not be received and, instead, a university extension certificate or diploma will be obtained.

Enrollment

Once the above documentation has been assessed, and when there is a large enough group of pre-enrolled students, each candidate will receive the confirmation and information necessary to enroll. Enrollment implies obtaining a definitive place and will take effect within the deadlines indicated in the confirmation e-mail.

When students enroll, they will have two business days to pay the total cost of enrollment, by bank transfer, credit card or barcode. Studies can be paid in installments, without any interest, by bank transfer (Instructions to send the signed SEPA Document to Blanquerna)

Prices may be updated each academic year. Once enrollment has been formalized, the amount paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Pre-enrollment and enrollment may remain open up to 15 days before the start of the course, provided places are available.

When a student enrolls, a contract for the provision of teaching services is formalized between the student and the Blanquerna Foundation, which is legally binding from the time of payment. Payment includes the corresponding insurance and, for students under the age of twenty-eight, compulsory academic insurance. If a student declines to take up a place, he/she will lose in full any amount he/she has paid.

The student accepts the rules for the use of computer services established by the Blanquerna Foundation. The student's personal data will be included in an automated file under the responsibility of the Blanquerna Foundation, so that this contract can be maintained and fulfilled. Students should note that their data may also be used to inform them about the future activities of the Foundation, or for the institution to send them publications.

In accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999 on the protection of personal data, students have the right to access their data to update, rectify or cancel them, or object to their use, by sending a letter, indicating which right they want to exercise.

This section is a summary of the general conditions for enrollment. It is only for guidance and therefore has no contractual value. In the event of any discrepancy, the provisions of the general conditions for enrollment specified in the receipt generated at the time of enrollment will prevail; this receipt formalizes the contract between the student and the Blanquerna Foundation; students can consult it on the intranet whenever they wish.

The School cannot guarantee that a course will be available if the requirement for a minimum number of enrollments is not met. In this case, the amount paid for enrollment and pre-enrollment will be refunded in full.

Foreign students

Applicants who have completed access studies outside Spain must obtain a certificate issued by the relevant body (university, embassy, consulate) confirming that the studies qualify the student in the country of issue to take the master degree or graduate studies.

Students are responsible for having all the official documentation necessary for their stay in Spain while studying at the School. Applicants can ask for a pre-acceptance document attached to the pre-enrollment receipt to initiate applications for visas or scholarships or carry out any other administrative procedure. Under no circumstances does this document guarantee a place if all the access and admission requirements are not met. Once applicants have been accepted and enrollment is complete, they can request a letter of admission from the Academic Secretary, if required, by paying the corresponding fees.
