Access to doctoral studies is regulated by Royal Decree RD 99/2011, dated January 28 and by the General rules of organization of the doctorate at Ramon Llull University, approved by the doctoral Commission of URL on the 13 of December of 2012 and ratified by the Governors Meeting of December 20, 2012.
In accordance with Royal Decree 99/2011, 28 January, the general requirements for admission to the doctoral program are:
Spanish or overseas students, preferably with an educational background in Social Sciences and Humanities. Priority will be given to those candidates with an academic qualification in the area of Communication: Journalism, Media Studies, Film, Television, Advertising, Public Relations and other related areas.
In order to enroll on the doctoral program, the candidate has to be interviewed by the coordinator of the program. Admission will depend on this interview and on the candidate’s CV.
Those characteristics which provide reasonable evidence of the candidate’s potential as a researcher will be considered an asset:
The Doctoral Program Academic Committee (CAPD) is ultimately responsible for deciding whether a candidate is eligible for admission, in accordance with the described selection criteria.
Students qualified in the area of Communication and who have completed a master’s degree in an institution other than Blanquerna School of Communication must demonstrate that the master obtained included at least 10 ECTS credits corresponding to subjects related to research methodology. If that is not the case, candidates will have to study the Introduction to Research Methodology Module of any of the university master’s degrees offered by Blanquerna School of Communication.
Candidates whose profile differs from the above may be admitted to the doctoral program but will be required to study the supplementary training courses outlined above, up to a maximum of 20 ECTS credits. The Doctoral Program Academic Committee will evaluate each case individually to determine the types of courses which should be taken.
Students wishing to enroll in the Doctoral Program on a part-time basis must meet the same admission requirements as other students.
You must fill in the form that you will find when clicking on the option ‘application’ for each qualification and follow the instructions that are indicated. During the process you will have to upload any requested documents and you will be assigned a day and time for interview with the coordinator of the selected course. This process is free of charge.
As soon as the application is completed, you will receive a corresponding receipt with the information and an application code (CIB).
After analysing and assessing the candidates’ dossier and their eligibility, each candidate will receive an email from the course coordinator regarding their application and, if accepted, the information necessary to enroll on the program.
Once the admission is communicated, the candidate must pay €100 fee in order to reserve a place on the course through the same application in which the application was made. The payment of this amount will be considered as a reservation of place and will be deducted from the total price of the registration fee, when the course is formalized. Payment is made by credit or debit card through a secure and confidential process. The amount paid will not be refunded in any case, except if the course is canceled.
Payment is made at the time of enrollment. The student will have two working days to make payment of the total cost. Prices are updated each academic year. Under established conditions, as soon as the enrollment is formalized, any amount that has been paid will not be returned under any circumstances.
This note is merely a summary of the general enrollment conditions and thus has no contractual value. In case of any discrepancy, observe the “General Enrollment Conditions" stipulated in the receipt generated when enrolling, which serves as a contract between students and the Fundació Blanquerna and which students can consult at any time on the intranet at http://scala.blanquerna.edu.
