Data journalism is a professional activity that requires complex and specific skills. In this sense, the course deals with, among others, subjects such as managing large amount of data to build journalistic stories, ethical questions posed by working with mass data, the most common programming languages, strategies on channels and devices through which journalistic content is distributed, concepts and fundamental tools of computer graphics and data visualization.
The target audience for this Master's degree are students who have either finished their studies or those who have done so in recent years. Young people who want to specialize in data journalism -some may already have started to work in this field- and want to expand their training. The academic background of the students is a degree in communication -especially journalism-, but it is also possible that others may come from studies related to marketing, advertising and public relations. There could also be a third background: design, image and audiovisual.
