Are the Education professionals responsible for guaranteeing the integral education of children, in the developmental stage of 0 to 6 years old, to allow them to develop their skills and potential from the cognitive, motor, emotional and social fields. Early Childhood Education teacher training at our Faculty is based on offering quality training proposals that allow teachers to be innovative and entrepreneurial in the fields related to education of 0-6-year-old children. Early Childhood Education teachers will have solid training to boost pedagogical advances and practice in the key stages 0-3 (kindergarten) and 3-6 (nursery school) in the framework of a school open to families and the environment, as well as to achieve different levels of commitment and responsibility in the educational framework in general and the school context in particular.
To access it, according to the Commission on Access and Student Affairs of the Interuniversity Council of Catalonia, is required to overcome a personal aptitude test (PAP), and Blanquerna offers you the possibility to do some preparatory sessions.
Early Childhood Education teacher training offered at Blanquerna, supported by more than 65 years of experience in teacher training, academic and professional success, and the presence in the educational world, is characterised by quality training that allows us to meet current educational needs. Our proposal is based on personalized pedagogy, with work in small groups and seminars of 12 to 15 students, practice placements in all the degree years, carried out in renowned educational centres –both national and international-, supervised and followed up by a tutor, the level of internationalization of our studies both concerning the linguistic competence in English and the possibility of developing part of the training curriculum in foreign universities or doing practice placements in foreign schools. This active method, approaching the professional world and confirmed scientific rigour, makes Blanquerna a centre with its own style of doing university that allows us, in an atmosphere of dialogue and participation, to promote entrepreneurship, creativity and critical mind to meet the needs of schools today.
Duration: 1 academic year (once adaptation is confirmed)
Usual timetable: evening
Our educational proposal to obtain a second degree in Primary Education requires Blanquerna’s own model of Second Degree. The proposal implies that, once students have obtained one degree in Education in Blanquerna, they have the chance to obtain a Second Degree in the other degree with the validation and adaptation of credits according to their particular itinerary, and by taking the remaining credits in an academic year in order to obtain their Second Degree in Education.
This model allows Blanquerna students to enter the labour market after four years; to obtain two Teacher Training degrees in five years (Early Childhood Education + Primary Education); to have training in a second degree from a globalizing approach with small groups, professionalizing seminars with 12-15 students, and placements tutored by teachers from the university and these centres, carried out in renowned centres.
Course load: 84 ECTS
Length: 1 academic year (once the adaptation has been completed)*
Usual schedule: afternoon
*Students coming from the former degree programme who want to take a second degree course will have to take some subjects in the morning timetable together with students doing their first degree, given that the current second-degree timetable only establishes a gateway from new degree programme to new degree programme.
The advising service for students who are elite athletes at FPCEE Blanquerna was founded during the 2003-04 school year, only two years after the start of the degree programs in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport, in the face of increasing demand for quality university education. The overall goal of the service is to provide these students with assistance in incorporating university studies through individualized attention, while never losing sight of the pursuit of excellence and academic rigor. Measures to attend diversity already exist in high school, and it’s only logical for it to continue to be offered by universities. You can find more information at the following link.
